I can’t think of a better way to kick off my first blog post than with a tribute to one of the most dog friendly cities in the United States, San Francisco! On a recent visit to the City by the Bay, it was heartwarming to see so many dog owners out and about with their well behaved, four-legged companions. San Francisco dogs seem to love their city as much as their owners because of the large number of parks and recreational areas that offer off-leash areas to walk, play and relax together. The large majority of dog owners in the city are conscientious and responsible with well adjusted, socialized dogs. They value these public, dog friendly spaces despite the threat of a proposal to eliminate many of the off-leash areas in the Golden Gate National Recreational Area. If you’re a San Francisco dog owner that enjoys spending time with your dog in these off-leash areas, get informed and get involved by visiting Save Our Recreation, SaveOffLeash or SF Dog to help keep San Francisco dog friendly.
Meanwhile, enjoy these very cool SF canines!
